Hayley Barber DeShazo is a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. She is the Community Marketing Coordinator at American Family Care. Her role involves community marketing for the 45+ AFC clinics in Alabama.
One of her greatest accomplishments so far has been winning the title of Miss Alabama 2016 to whom she owes being awarded over $85,000 in scholarships for competing in the organization. Her favorite part about the competition is that she has been able to create a community service platform called, “Sight for Small Eyes” where she encourages eye examinations at a young age and raises funds for children with low vision. She was awarded the Community Service Quality of Life Award at Miss America for her efforts involving sight, the National Miracle Maker Award for raising $65,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and the STEM Award for Academics.
She has been trained in tap, ballet, jazz and various dance styles since the age of four and previously taught middle school and high school dance teams nationally with Universal Dance Association. During her free time she enjoys dancing, painting, and spending time with her husband and two golden retrievers!
