Mildred Lanier
Mildred Lanier is President Pro Tempore of the Pelham City Council and serves on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City. Ms. Lanier is also a Council liaison to the Pelham City Schools Board of Education. She has more than 20 years of experience in higher education teaching Business Management and Music. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Samford University and Masters’ Degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Birmingham-Southern College. Ms. Lanier is a graduate of Leadership Shelby County and the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Trinity International University of Ambassadors. She has taught at Indiana University, University of Oklahoma, Miles College, and Birmingham-Southern College. Ms. Lanier serves on the faculty at Jefferson State Community College.
